Competitor analysis

Who gets recommended when your customers ask AI?

Competitor visibility matters most on the questions your customers ask. Compare the same questions, models and dates, then read the answers behind the gap.

Understand the evidence

Start with the same set of answers.

Numbers from different questions do not make a useful comparison. Match the conditions, compare mentions and citations, then investigate questions that feature a competitor without your brand.

How to use competitor analysis
Brand share of voice and competitor comparison

Put it into practice

Turn an observation into an informed decision.

  1. Register real alternatives

Add the names and official domains of brands your customers also consider. Review candidates found in collected answers before adding them.

  2. Keep the comparison consistent

Use the same date range, models, topics and tags. Check whether your question set changed before interpreting a shift in share of voice.

  3. Read the questions behind a gap

Inspect competitor-only mentions and recurring citations. Review whether your pages answer the same customer questions with enough detail.

What can you track?

Registered competitors and candidates
Compare registered brands. Other brands found in collected answers may be suggested for review; they are not registered automatically.
Mention rate and share of voice
See how often a brand appears in answers and its share of mentions among the brands being compared.

How to interpret the results

Share of voice is relative to tracked questions and brands. It is not market share or revenue. A citation in an answer does not necessarily support that answer’s recommendation of a particular competitor; check the original text.
